Tryst With Destiny

With the UPA having won this election and Congress getting its best result in the last 20 years. The sycophantic congresswallahs have ganged up in hailing the new Yuvraj and all of them want Rahul Gandhi to become a cabinet minister. I have been following his moves for quite some time and here is my prediction of what course he will take.

• He will not become a cabinet minister at the moment.
  
• He will continue to work for revival of congress in UP. In 2011 he would lead the Congress to a victory in UP election and would appoint one of his trusted aides as the chief minister. The person would be young. One person that I feel has a strong chance of making the cut is Jitin Prasad. In my opinion if Rahul himself becomes the chief minister that would be best for UP, Congress and Rahul himself.
  
• In 2011 Rahul would become a minister of state for rural development.
• In 2014 contrary to most people's expectation Rahul would not be the PM candidate. Somebody else would be made the PM candidate. My hunch is P. Chidambaram.
  
• If Congress wins the election Rahul becomes a cabinet minister and if they don't Rahul gets back to strenthening the party.
• In the next election whenever they take place Rahul would project himself as a PM candidate.

I am sticking neck out and making these projection. Lets see how well I understand the psyche of my namesake.
